Hamed Amanpour, director, playwright and theatre researcher, was born in Iran in 1981. In 2003, he founded the theatre company Nimkat and has since directed numerous major works, including those by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen and Euripides. He holds a master's degree in theatre and specialises in actor training and performance art. For several years, he has been running workshops based on Jacques Lecoq's poetic body method in collaboration with Sahar Rezvani. His theatre, rooted in the body and collective memory, explores the links between aesthetics, politics and social transformation.
