Playwright

Iva Brdar is a playwright, a graduate in dramaturgy from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and in theater studies from Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle. She has written Pouces en l'air (Brücke Berlin Preis and Sterijino Pozorje prize), Les Géraniums ne meurent jamais (Heartefact Foundation Prize) and Demain est (pour l’instant) toujours là (shortlisted for the Theatertreffen Stückemarkt). She received the Borislav Mihajlovic Mihiz Prize for her complete works. She has been awarded Beaumarchais-SACD grants for screenwriting. Her plays have been staged and read in Germany (Schauspiel Stuttgart, Deutsches Theater, Schauspiel Köln, Thalia Hamburg), the United States (Cherry Arts, New York Public Library), France (Théâtre du Nord, Théâtre National de Nice), Austria (Kosmos Theater) and have been translated into English, German, French, Italian, and Czech. In Germany, his plays are represented by Rowohlt Verlag.
