José Huamani is currently studying early music at the CRB in Brussels. He studied musicology in Peru and is also the founder and artistic director of L'Ensemble Transatlantique and Auroras Mestizas.
Residency project:
‘Les voix Migrantes’ is a research and artistic creation project that aims to revive a musical syncretism between European baroque music and Latin American popular music, using the viola da gamba as a historical bridge between these two worlds. The baroque language, its ornamentation and harmonies meet arrangements of traditional songs and pieces from Peru, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia.
