Residency project:

“How can you turn the act of listening to electroacoustic music through loudspeakers into a ‘live’, physical experience? This is the primary question that I would like to explore in my proposed project, ‘Sound in Space’, an interdisciplinary piece with a focus on the physicality of sound and the potential of spatialised sound to create theatre and dramaturgy in its own right.

The product of ‘Sound in Space’ would be an ambisonic, multichannel sound installation, which could be presented either on multiple speakers and/or headphones as part of a soundwalk. The aim would be to bring sound into the physical realm by using a range of spatial audio rendering techniques, for example Wave Field Synthesis, Vector Base Amplitude Planning, Ambisonics Amplitude Planning, and Distance-Coded Ambisonics.”
