On June the 17th, 2025, the ACCR organized a day of reflection for residency coordinators within the network. This day was also an opportunity to invite artists who had been awarded grants through the Nora program to discuss their expectations regarding residencies.
This meeting enabled the ACCR to review past and current projects related to the issue of hosting artists in residence: learning mobility last March at the Abbaye de Neimenster on support for emerging artists, the development of a charter for residencies specific to the network, the drafting and submission of a European project, the regular publication of residency reports, work on supporting artists in exile in their professional and personal integration, thanks in particular to funding from the Carasso Foundation, the introduction of the Nora passport, which allows artists who have won the Nora program to travel to CCRs near their place of residence; the proposal of training modules for teams aimed, among other things, at facilitating intercultural communication and identifying and addressing mental health issues; the launch of an internal call for projects within the network to work with former Nora winners; and more.
The ACCR team has also been able to repost the social media pages run by Mahtab Ghorbani on behalf of the ACCR, thanks to funding from the Carasso Foundation for 2025, which aims to unite, animate, and promote the Nora and Odyssée community of artists. You can follow the residents' news by browsing the dedicated Facebook group and Instagram page.
The residency coordinators in attendance also offered suggestions aimed at facilitating cross-residencies between centers and connecting artists with local professionals suited to their needs.
The artists in attendance shared what they expected from a residency, namely an opportunity to work in a dedicated, peaceful environment without having to worry about the practical constraints of everyday life, as well as the opportunity to meet cultural professionals and engage with a wide variety of audiences. The artists also said that the ACCR network enables them to forge links and partnerships outside the Paris region, where the art scene can feel saturated.
