In order to continue the training course ‘Interpreting and applying the principles of the Faro Convention’ and to support ACCR members who wish to question their practices, the participants in the training course have developed a resource file (only in French for the moment) and a roadmap explaining the steps involved in self-assessment (only in French for the moment).
In December 2021, the ACCR launched an experiment on approaches to heritage, which took the form of a long-term training programme for members of the network and its partners, coordinated by the Oiseaux de Passage cooperative.
This work has provided an opportunity to reflect on the development of heritage communities around CCRs, as part of a broader reflection on creating the conditions necessary for the consideration and implementation of cultural rights.
In order to continue this momentum and respond to the need for support expressed by network members, the ACCR and the Faro group of trainers have developed several tools that are available to anyone interested in applying the principles of the Faro Convention across the board in their activities, regardless of the specific characteristics of their centres. The tools created include a glossary, a list of frequently asked questions, introductory modules to help understand certain themes (the nuances between a participatory model and a cooperative model, between top-down guided tours and co-constructed walks, etc.), a self-assessment grid for evaluating one's structure in relation to the principles of the Faro Convention, a directory of resource persons, a bibliography, a resource file for further reading, and more. ...), a self-assessment grid for organisations based on the principles of the Faro Convention, a directory of resource persons, a bibliography, a resource file for further reading, etc.
You can access all these resources by clicking on this link.
This is an evolving and participatory tool. Anyone with the link can comment on the shared elements and add new ones, thus contributing to the collective reflection.
For those wishing to be accompanied by the Faro trainer group, a roadmap presenting the course of an assessment mission allows CCRs wishing to initiate this process to visualise the process and the trainer group to carry out the mission. You can find it by following this link.
The first field mission will take place in October 2025 at the Saline royale d'Arc-et-Senans, providing an opportunity to test the tools created and adapt them accordingly.
