Change of management at Château de Goutelas

Following a recruitment process involving its main public partners, the Board of Directors of the Château de Goutelas association has appointed Céline Le Roux as director of Château de Goutelas, Cultural Meeting Center (CCR). She will take up her post in January 2026.

Committed to public service in the field of culture for nearly 30 years, Céline Le Roux is a professional in the arts and culture sector and was Deputy Director of the Théâtre Nouvelle Génération – Centre dramatique national de Lyon (2015-2024). She founded and directed Micro Mondes - Festival des arts immersifs (2009-2024). She was artistic coordinator of the Lyon Dance Biennale from 2006 to 2012, and was in charge of public relations and production at the Théâtre National de Bretagne from 1997 to 2005. Deeply committed to youth, she was co-founder and co-president of doMino, Plateforme Jeune Public - Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (2020-2024). Céline Le Roux is also involved in citizen democracy as an advisor to the Regional Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESER) on behalf of Syndéac. The artistic and cultural project she wishes to develop for the Château de Goutelas is called “Hospitality.” Inspired by the castle's H-shaped architecture and the humanist ideals of its founder Jean Papon in the 16th century, hospitality is the philosophy at the heart of the new Cultural Meeting Center project.

A heritage site that welcomes and accommodates, that reflects and creates, open to sharing, warm and fraternal. A place where wonder and enchantment can happen in flashes. A friendly and festive place to gather and meet. A place where the values of humanism are held up as an emblem.

Based on the CCR's identity: law, humanism, creation, and popular education, the artistic and cultural project “Hospitality” is structured around four areas: promoting the tangible and intangible heritage of Goutelas, artist and lawyer residencies, organizing conferences and debates on current social issues, and offering a multidisciplinary program (concerts, shows, exhibitions, land art, banquets, and giant picnics, etc.). The project is open in all its dimensions to the residents and tourists of Forez (children, teenagers, adults, families), with a constant focus on cultural rights and artistic and cultural education. This new project, supported by the entire team at the Château de Goutelas – Centre culturel de rencontre, volunteers, members, and partners, will help to promote an inspiring, curious, and open heritage site in the region, in tune with the excitement, upheavals, and pulsations of the world.
