Following the general meeting in May 2023, the Association des Centres culturels de rencontre amended its statutes and now consists of active members and associate members.
Active members hold the “Centre culturel de rencontre” label governed by Decree No. 0207-434 of March 28, 2017, as amended. Associate members are any natural or legal persons with a non-profit purpose, located in a historic monument or a remarkable natural or architectural site, or involved in the promotion and revitalization of intangible heritage, in France or abroad, with the same objectives as the Centres culturels de rencontre. They are approved by the board of directors by a two-thirds majority.
This co-optation is based on their concerns, objectives, and projects that echo the commitments that have been dear to the network since its creation in 1973. This multiplies the possibilities for joint projects and amplifies the resonance of shared values on a national and European scale. Each member, whether active or qualified, thus contributes to the collective dynamic of the network.
In 2025, the ACCR comprises 22 active members and 23 associate members, including 9 sites in France, 13 sites in Europe, and one site in Benin.
In 2024, five new associate members joined the network: Les Moulins de Paillard (72), Le Centre culturel irlandais (75), La Maison Forte (47), La Cité des électriciens (62), and Saint Andrew’s Castle (Hungary). In 2025, four new sites were co-opted: Le Domaine du Rayol (83), Le Château de Plessis-lès-Tours (37), Le Château de Pange (57), and Le Potager extraordinaire (85).
