Artist residencies as a Tool for young Europeans’ Social Participation through creativity - ARTES

2021

ARTES stands for "Artist residencies as a Tool for young Europeans' Social Participation through creativity" and is an Erasmus+ project supported by the Corte Ospitale - Teatro Herberia (Italy), the Chartreuse de Neuville (France) and the Grand Hornu - CID (Belgium). This Erasmus+ programme encourages the mobility of young Europeans and their cultural enrichment.

From 10 to 20 October 2021, the Corte Ospitale - CCR in Italy welcomed 26 young people from Italy, France and Belgium to share the experience of an artistic residency with the Teatro Sotterraneo company. During these 10 days, they were able to meet each other, discover the region and participate in workshops with the artists. They created and worked together, also reflecting on the priorities for youth in the European Union, looking at how theatre could help achieve their goals. It was also about the relationship between the artist, the theatre and the spectator: sharing views and visions about theatre as a vehicle for change.
