Jamm’Art, A 72-hour online discussion about artists and society !

Borrowing the concept from the jazz world, a Jam Session is an event, a web site, an open space, a tool, a discussion and more all wrapped into a 72- hour exchange of ideas on issues that are relevant. Already experienced by different types of organisations (from the United Nations to IBM), a Jam Session is organised to facilitate discussions among participants around “always evolving” topics, with the goal of collectively tackling them in a defined period of time.

Join the debate ! The main question explored would be: Are artists and intellectuals obliged to engage in society and politics today? Why?
We will then use four kick-off questions at the launch of the Jam Session:
– Are artists and intellectuals sufficiently part of the political discourse today? Should they be?
– Do arts thrive in democracy? And vice versa: do democracies thrive via the arts?
– Do artists and intellectuals necessarily need to consider their impact on society?
– Should artists live off their arts? How?
