I. Objectives and composition of the Association
Article 1:
The aim of the Centre Culturel de Rencontre Association is to develop the influence of these centres at regional, national and international level, from their local roots, in accordance with their independence and mission statements. These centres are officially approved or declared charitable trusts and associations which, being established in historical monuments, deal with reviving and developing heritage buildings through cultural or scientific activities. It has an unlimited duration.
Its registered office is located at 9 rue Bleue, 75009 Paris. Any change of address of the registered office can be made upon a simple decision by the General Assembly.
Article 2:
The mission of the Association covers any public interest activity, especially knowledge and know-how exchange, technical support, surveys and strategy, follow-up of the relationships with French authorities and international bodies, development of the centres network in France and abroad, as well as promotion and communication.
Article 3:
The Association is composed of ex-officio members, active members, associate members and experts.
Fondation de France is ex-officio member.
The active members are centres that have undertaken a mission of development in a historic monument located in France:
- the Royaumont Foundation
- the Claude-Nicolas Ledoux Institute in Arc-et-Senans
- the Chartreuse – National Centre of Theatre Writing in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon
- the Cultural Centre of Western France in Fontevraud
- the International Centre of the See in Rochefort
as well as the associate members, which can become active members following the procedure detailed in § 4.
The associate members are cultural centres, established in historic monuments in France or abroad, which have the same objectives as the Centre Culturel de Rencontre. They are appointed for a two-year period by the Executive Committee, with a two-thirds majority. The Executive Committee may exceptionally decide to maintain a centre in this category for another two years, with the same majority. At the end of this period, the Executive Committee may decide, with a two-thirds majority, which associate members can be made active members.
