EUROPEAN WORKSHOP FOR ARCHITECTURE/2: INVENTING THE LANDSCAPE
Conference 1 : Château du Grand-Jardin, 4-6 June 2009
We proposed several themes to the members of the Network:
Present and future of the landscape in and around the historic monuments (nature, garden, cloister, site, belvedere); towards a definition of a typology on the relationship between monument/nature; the void (interior and exterior) – creator of architecture.
The basis of the European Workshop for Architecture/2 (2009-2010) are the two conferences organised in 2009 (June 5th at Grand Jardin and October 9th at the Domain of Chaumont/Loire).
The participants to this second European Workshop are invited to create multidisciplinary teams including a school, a research centre, an artist (open list). These teams are expected to present at the end of the Workshop a “product” (film, book, exhibition, research, etc.).
The final moment of the Workshop is a Festival presenting to fellow participants and to the large public the products (very divers) created in the framework of the workshop. The Festival is scheduled for June 2010 at the Domain of Chaumont/Loire.

SATURDAY JUNE 6th
On Saturday June 6th at 9h, Guillaume Romé invites you to a guided visit (aprox. 1h30) of the International Poster and Graphic Arts Festival of Chaumont.
On the basis of a collection of 5 000 posters (Chéret, Toulouse-Lautrec, Capiello..), the city of Chaumont created in 1990 a Festival. This event focuses on the contemporary reality of the international graphic art and encourages know how exchange between French, European and international graphic artists.
The public collection of Chaumont grew significantly during the last 20 years (to almost 27 000 contemporary posters) due to the Festival and the international competition.
Every year in May the Festival offers exhibition spaces to new generations of graphic artists, without discrimination of format. The Festival presents also an annual monographic exhibition dedicated to an XXth century artist or artistic movement.
You will find the programme of this 20th edition at: http://www.chaumont-graphisme.com
