Report of the Orientation Council , december 2006

DECISION SUMMARY :
1. The Council will encourage the study and the development, in parallel and complementary, of projects involving a limited number of members, funded even without the EU contribution, as well as bigger projects developed on purpose within the Culture 2007 framework. The Secretariat will ensure indiscriminate support and follow up for the two types of projects.
2. The Council wishes the PROXIMA platform to be ameliorated (simplification and follow up of the training of users) and completed with an interactive tool (type blog).
3. The Council validates the five applications for membership presented during the General Assembly of the Network (La Chartreuse – 19.09.06). Are confirmed as active members: Abbaye de Neumünster (Luxembourg) and the BanffyCastle from Bontida (Romania). As associated members: Convent of Santa Chiara in San Miniato (Italy), Borgo Dolciano (Italy), Casa das Caldeiras (Brazil).
4. The Council validates the initiative to develop a proposal for the Network for a project on the theme « the monument as educator » at to associate as many members of possible. An application shall be sent to the European Commission not in February 07 but in November 07.
5. The Council regrets the absence of the representative of La Paix-Dieu in Lisbon and deplores their decision to withdraw as leading partner within the Culture 2007 project « the monument as educator ». A letter will be addressed to the General Administrator of the IPW, tutor of La Paix-Dieu in order to clarify the participation of the La Paix-Dieu to the Orientation Council of the Network.
6. The Council wishes to thank the Centro Nacional de Cultura and its director Teresa Tamen as well as its president Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins, for the efficient organisation and warm welcome. The Council proposes the CNC to join the Orientation Council.
